1 POSSIBLE SIGN :
- Early breast changes (Montgomery tubercles, 2° areola)
- Amenorrhoea (absence of menses)
- Morning sickness (vomiting)
- Bladder irritability (urge to void frequently)
- Quickening (fetal movement felt by mothers)
2 PROBABLE SIGN :
- Presence of hCG in urine or blood
- Hegar sign (softening in the consistency of the uterus)
- Chadwick’s sign (bluish discoloration of the cervix, vagina, and labia due to increased blood flow)
- Osiander’s sign (a vaginal pulsation felt at lateral fornices)
- Uterine growth
- Changes in skin pigmentation (chloasma gravidarum, striae albicans, linea nigra)
- Uterine souffle (soft, blowing sound synchronous with the pulse of the mother)
- Braxton Hicks contractions
- Ballottement of uterus
3 POSITIVE SIGN :
- Visualization of a gestational sac by Transvaginal or Transabdominal ultrasound (4-5 week)
- Visualization of heart pulsation by TVS, TAS (5-6 week)
- Fetal heart sound by Doppler (11-12 week), stethoscope (20week)
- Fetal movement palpable (22 weeks)
- Visualization of a fetus by X-ray (16 weeks)
